Camper Van hire is only available to drivers aged 23 and over.
The minimum hire period is 3 days.
One week prior to hire we require (for all drivers) two utility bills dated in the past 3 months, passport and a scanned copy of both sides of the drivers licence.
On the morning of collection/delivery there is a £1000 hold put on your credit/debit card that you paid your hire with. This is released when the vehicle is returned on time and in the same condition as it left us. Any charges will be discussed if the vehicle is returned late and/or with any damage.
All our campervans have full tanks of fuel and must be returned with a full tank, failure to return full will result in a standard £100 charge that will be deducted from your holding deposit.
All our campervans are under manufacturer’s warranty and have breakdown assistance. There is a welcome pack detailing what to do in the event of a breakdown. If you have any questions whilst you are away there are contact numbers on the fridge – if not urgent, please call during office hours. All our vans are STRICTLY NO SMOKING – if there has been any smoking YOU WILL FORFEIT THE FULL £1000 HOLDING DEPOSIT.
Due to the paper part of the UK driving license being discontinued we now need to view your driving license information online before you travel. Viewing your information online will allow us to see:
· What vehicles you can drive
· Any penalty points or disqualifications you have
· Your name

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING WITH YOU:-
· DVLA Licence Check Code
· Photocard Driving Licence
· Deposit Credit/Debit Card in the hiring person’s name
If you have an accident and what to do:-
If an accident occurs – please refer to the accident pack (which is with your user guide) immediately and follow the instructions – do not leave the site without this being completed in full, nor allow the other vehicles involved to leave without the information that is required on the form. (Failure to do so may result in the forfeit of your holding deposit)
1. Between 42 days before and up to day of hire – 100% of total hire charge
2. Between 84 days and 43 days – 50% of total hire charge
3. Between 140 days and 85 days – 20% of total hire charge
4. You have statutory rights of 7 days from point of booking to cancel with no charge and receive a full refund. (Minus Paypal fees which will be provided as proof to you once you have cancelled)
If you are travelling within the time frame of Point 1 or Point 2 you (the hirer) accept that these charges apply without exception and the 7 day cancellation period is no longer valid.
You can choose to pay the whole balance or a 30% non-refundable holding deposit which will come off the final balance. Final balance is due 4 weeks prior to departure.
Unlimited mileage is included throughout UK
European Hire is a minimum of 7 nights and is limited to 1000 miles per week (7 days) Excess mileage after that is £0.10 pence ( + Vat) per mile. With Collection (or delivery to your house as per the standard delivery costs as detailed in Question 5 of the FAQ’s) on a Monday or Friday before 12pm with drop off at the end of the trip by 11am. N.B. If travelling in Europe it is YOUR responsibility to have the correct equipment pertaining to the law of the country(ies) you are travelling through e.g. the correct number of Hi-Vis jackets, Breathalysers etc.
The hirer, together with any other driver are responsible for any traffic violations or criminal offences throughout the UK and Europe. This will incur a £20 management fee per violation/offence.
Breakdown and roadside assistance comes as standard – all details provided in the campervan
You will be provided with a 24 hour phone number for anything pertaining to the van if there is a problem that is not connected to a breakdown or roadside assistance.
Merchandise Returns (This excludes any vehicle hire)
Any products can be returned within 7 days of you receiving them. They must be in the same condition that they were received and returned at the purchaser’s expense. Once received back here at Basecamp you will be issued a refund which will hit your card/Paypal account within 3-7 business days of that date.
